In short
- Beauty is the baseline in published niche multipliers (1.0x): about ₹8,000 to ₹80,000 per micro Reel. Finance, tech and parenting are quoted as multiples of it.
- A three-Reel trial series costs about 2.2x to 2.5x one Reel: ₹44,000 to ₹50,000 at a ₹20,000 Reel, against ₹60,000 if the Reels are bought separately.
- Shade and skin-concern coverage multiplies the number of creators, not the fee per creator. Twelve shade-matched micro Reels cost ₹2.4 lakh before add-ons.
- In our 12-shade example, rights and claims revisions add 27% to base fees, and the all-in cost is 1.83 times the base fees.
Beauty influencers in India typically charge ₹2,000 to ₹10,000 per Reel at nano level, ₹8,000 to ₹80,000 at micro level and ₹50,000 to ₹3.5 lakh at mid-tier, because beauty is the baseline that published guides use to price every other niche. A beauty quote then moves with the format you buy, the number of shades or skin concerns you need shown, and the usage rights and claims work layered on top. Our influencer marketing cost guide has the full tier tables for every platform. This post covers what only beauty buyers face.
The multipliers that put finance, tech and parenting above beauty are in influencer fees by niche in India. Here we stay inside beauty: who you cast, which formats you buy, what a shade range does to a budget, and a costed launch. Five beauty creator types, five ways to price
| Creator type | What the brand buys | How it prices |
|---|---|---|
| Everyday skincare or makeup creator | Routines, honest reviews, first impressions | The baseline, 1.0x |
| Makeup artist or tutorial creator | Step-by-step application and shade-matching | Baseline band, plus production, which one published card puts from about ₹5,000 to several lakh |
| Ingredient-literate or skin-concern creator | Explainers on actives and concerns | No published multiplier; quote creator by creator |
| Qualified skin expert | Credibility for efficacy-led products | No published multiplier; health creators' fees rose 25% to 50% in 2026 in one source |
| Comedy or entertainment creator | Reach beyond beauty followers | 0.7x to 0.9x of the baseline |
Credentials cost more than money. ASCI's Addendum II says influencers giving technical health advice must state their qualification upfront, and ASCI's update of 28 April 2025 limits that to technical advice. A skin expert explaining how an active works is giving technical advice, in our reading, so the label goes on screen. A creator saying they liked the texture is not.
Six beauty formats and what each costs
| Format | What you are buying | Price logic at micro level |
|---|---|---|
| Routine or "get ready with me" Reel | The product in a normal routine | One Reel: ₹8,000 to ₹80,000 |
| Shade-match or swatch Reel | The product on a specific skin depth | One Reel; the cost is in casting several creators |
| Trial series, 14 to 30 days | Day 1, mid-point and final Reels | 2.2x to 2.5x one Reel for three Reels (one card) |
| Story set with link sticker | 3 to 5 frames pointing to the product page | ₹5,000 to ₹20,000, about 40% to 60% of a feed post (one card) |
| Ingredient explainer carousel | Saves-driven education on one active | ₹5,000 to ₹50,000 |
| YouTube tutorial or review | A searchable video that keeps earning views | Dedicated video: ₹20,000 to ₹1.2 lakh |
The trial series has a discount built in
A skincare or colour product needs repeated use before a viewer believes a result. A three-Reel series over 14 days shows that. At a ₹20,000 Reel, three separate Reels cost ₹60,000. The published package price of 2.2x to 2.5x is ₹44,000 to ₹50,000, a saving of 17% to 27% (our arithmetic). The price of that saving is one contract covering all three posts, with dates, and the same claims sheet applied to each. Day-14 Reels are where "results" language creeps in, so approve the final script against what you can substantiate, not against what the creator saw.
Shade casting multiplies creators, not rates
A foundation in 12 shades cannot be shown by one face. Viewers look for someone with their depth and undertone, so the unit of a beauty budget is the shade band, not the Reel. At ₹20,000 a micro Reel, twelve shade-matched creators cost ₹2.4 lakh. That is 1.6 times one mid-tier makeup artist at ₹1.5 lakh, who can show two or three tones at most (our reading). The same logic holds for skin concerns: acne, pigmentation, dry skin and sensitive skin each want their own voice.
Plan the casting grid before you ask for quotes. Map shades or concerns on one axis and languages or city tiers on the other, and fill each cell once. The grid tells you how many creators you need and stops you booking five creators for one cell.
What pushes a beauty quote above the base fee
| Add-on | Published range | Why beauty brands meet it |
|---|---|---|
| Usage rights for your ads | +30% to 50%; +25% to 40% for reposts; +20% to 50% per extra month | Creator videos are a main ad source for most beauty brands (our reading) |
| Whitelisting | +60% to 120% over an organic post; media 2x to 4x the fee | Same reason; ask whether rights and whitelisting overlap |
| 30-day exclusivity | +30% to 50% | Creators carry several beauty brands at once; name your rivals |
| Revisions beyond two rounds | ₹5,000 to ₹30,000 each | Claims edits arrive after the Reel is shot |
| Brand-written script | ₹15,000 to ₹50,000 for some mid-tier creators, plus 15% to 25% for revisions | Claims-heavy scripts are common |
| Rush under 48 hours | +25% to 40% | Launch-day deadlines |
Added together, not multiplied, a ₹20,000 micro Reel with 35% rights and 40% exclusivity costs ₹35,000, and ₹41,300 with 18% GST. That is 2.07 times the base fee for the same video. Much of the gap between two quotes for the same creator sits in this table, not in the Reel price. Ask each creator which lines a quote includes.
Where barter works in beauty, and where it stops
Published guides note that nano creators are often paid in product or small fees, and beauty is where that fits best. A ₹900 kit costs the brand little, and a nano creator who really uses it makes an honest trial. The limits are real. A kit buys no guaranteed post, so count kits sent against posts received and stop shipping to creators who do not publish. Above nano level, creators with a rate card rarely work for product alone, in our experience, and the usual middle is a hybrid: a small fee plus the kit.
| Deal for one nano creator | Brand cost (kit assumed at ₹900) | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Kit only | ₹900 | A post if the creator chooses; no commitment |
| Kit plus ₹2,000 | ₹2,900 | A contracted Reel with a date and a brief |
| Kit plus ₹5,000 | ₹5,900 | A contracted Reel, with an approval round |
A fee turns a favour into a delivery. For ten nano creators, kit-only costs ₹9,000 and the ₹2,000 hybrid ₹29,000. Our barter collaboration guide and how to value a barter collaboration show how to price the swap. All three deals still need an ASCI label.
The compliance cost inside a beauty fee
Personal care was 16.9% of ASCI's influencer violations in FY2025-26, second only to illegal betting at 54%. The cost of staying out of that figure appears in three places, none of them on a rate card.
- The claims sheet. Every line a creator may say about the product, with the test or ingredient evidence behind it. Our post on cosmetics claims in influencer marketing shows a claim ladder. Budget your team's time to build it before the brief, not after the first draft.
- Revision rounds. Two are standard. Skin and colour claims tend to need a third, so hold a reserve for it.
- Kits and tax. A kit sent for a shoot and returned is no benefit. A kept kit is valued at fair market value, and TaxGuru's summary of the CBDT FAQs says 10% TDS applies once benefits to one person pass ₹20,000 in a financial year. A ₹900 kit is far below that. A premium hamper to the same macro creator at every launch is not, so keep a running total per creator.
This is general information, not legal or tax advice. Free kits also need a clear label under the ASCI influencer guidelines. Our post on usage rights in influencer content shows how to write the ad-use window.
Example: costing a 12-shade foundation launch
| Line | Basis | Amount |
|---|---|---|
| Micro Reels | 12 at ₹20,000 | ₹2,40,000 |
| Micro Story sets | 12 at ₹8,000 | ₹96,000 |
| Tutorial Reels | 2 mid-tier at ₹1,50,000 | ₹3,00,000 |
| Nano Reels | 10 at ₹5,000 | ₹50,000 |
| Base creator fees | ₹6,86,000 | |
| Usage rights, 60 days | +35% on the 6 best micro Reels and both tutorials (₹4,20,000) | ₹1,47,000 |
| Claims revisions | Reserve for 4 creators at ₹10,000 beyond two rounds | ₹40,000 |
| Creator spend | ₹8,73,000 | |
| Management fee | 20%, inside the published 15% to 25% | ₹1,74,600 |
| Kits and courier | 24 creators at ₹900 (assumed) | ₹21,600 |
| GST | 18% on creator spend and fee, the cautious case | ₹1,88,568 |
| All-in cost | ₹12,57,768 |
The all-in cost is 1.83 times the base fees, and creators receive 69% of it. Rights and revision reserve together add 27% to base fees, which is the part to negotiate first, since you will know which Reels deserve ad rights only after drafts arrive. Not included: ad media, which one agency guide puts at 2x to 4x the creator fee for a whitelisted post, and any reshoot.
One public reference for the many-voices shape: a 2025 men's facewash campaign used a headline comedian and more than 100 others, and the agency's creative chief reported a 44% sales rise, according to Branding in Asia. No costs were published, so it informs the casting idea, not the budget.
Putting a beauty budget together
Beauty is cheaper per creator than tech or finance, and one booking platform reports fee rises of 10% to 20% in 2026, against 5% to 15% for food creators, and far more for finance and tech. Frequently asked questions
How much do beauty influencers charge in India?
Asking prices for one Instagram Reel run from about ₹2,000 to ₹10,000 at nano level, ₹8,000 to ₹80,000 at micro level and ₹50,000 to ₹3.5 lakh at mid-tier. Beauty is the baseline niche, so these are the standard tier rates. Usage rights, exclusivity, GST at 18% and any agency fee come on top. See the influencer rates guide for macro and mega tiers.
Are beauty influencers cheaper than tech or finance influencers?
Yes, on published figures. One brand-deals guide prices finance at 1.5x to 2x a beauty baseline and tech at 1.3x to 1.5x, with comedy at 0.7x to 0.9x. A booking platform reports 2026 fee rises of 10% to 20% for beauty against 40% to 70% for AI and tech. See influencer fees by niche.
How much does a beauty trial series cost?
One agency guide prices a three-Reel package at 2.2x to 2.5x a single Reel. On a ₹20,000 micro Reel that is ₹44,000 to ₹50,000 against ₹60,000 bought separately. Add a Story set at the mid-point if you want link taps. Write all three posts, their dates and the claims sheet into one contract. See Instagram influencer rates.
Do dermatologists and skin experts charge more than beauty creators?
We found no published multiplier for qualified skin experts, so quote them creator by creator. One booking platform reports 2026 fee rises of 25% to 50% for health creators, against 10% to 20% for beauty. ASCI expects qualifications to be stated upfront whenever technical advice is given. See cosmetics claims in influencer marketing.
What does it cost to run beauty creator posts as ads?
Published cards put usage rights at about 30% to 50% of the fee and whitelisting at 60% to 120% over an organic post, and they differ on how the two overlap, so ask which one a quote prices. Ad media is separate, typically 2x to 4x the creator fee. See influencer whitelisting cost in India.
Is a free beauty kit taxable for the creator?
A kit kept by the creator is a benefit. Under section 194R, brands generally deduct 10% TDS once benefits to one person pass ₹20,000 in a financial year, valued at fair market value. A kit returned after a shoot is not a benefit. GST treatment of free products is unsettled, so ask a CA. Disclosure is needed either way. See TDS 194R and GST on influencer payments.
How many creators does a shade range need?
Start with one creator per shade band you want to show, because viewers look for their own depth and undertone. Twelve shade-matched micro creators cost ₹2.4 lakh in Reel fees at ₹20,000 each, against ₹1.5 lakh for one mid-tier makeup artist who can show only a few tones. Our micro and nano influencer service casts these groups.
