In short
- No published source gives an education multiplier, so edtech prices from tier rates: ₹15,000 to ₹60,000 for a micro YouTube integration, ₹40,000 to ₹2.4 lakh for a LinkedIn post.
- Cost per enrolment is creator side plus sales team. In our example, at 60 enrolments that is ₹33,730, or 56% of a ₹60,000 fee, using an assumed ₹6,000 counsellor cost.
- The CCPA's coaching rules cover endorsers. By 17 December 2024 it had issued 45 notices and fined 19 institutes ₹61.6 lakh, so a claims evidence pack is a cost control.
- Book teachers before results season. A rush under 48 hours adds 25% to 40%, or ₹93,750 to ₹1.5 lakh on three ₹1.25 lakh integrations.
Influencer marketing for edtech costs the creator's fee plus the counsellor time it takes to close an enrolment, and the second line can decide whether the plan pays. In our upskilling example below, ₹8.95 lakh of base creator fees becomes ₹16.6 lakh creator-side once exclusivity, rights, a revision reserve, a management fee and GST are added. Spread over 60 enrolments, with an assumed ₹6,000 of counsellor cost each, that is ₹33,730 per enrolment, or 56% of a ₹60,000 course fee.
The influencer marketing cost guide has the tier rates, and influencer fees by niche in India shows that no source we found gives education a premium. What this post adds is the rest of the bill: the sales team that closes enrolments, the evidence behind every claim and the price of booking late, with a plan worked through. Category plans are in edtech and education influencer marketing and influencer campaign ideas for edtech, and the channel is covered in the complete guide to influencer marketing in India.
Six edtech formats and what each costs
| Format | What the brand buys | Price in our rate model | Cost note |
|---|---|---|---|
| Teacher integration on YouTube | A trusted explainer inside a lesson, 60 to 90 seconds | Micro ₹15,000 to ₹60,000; mid-tier ₹60,000 to ₹2.5 lakh | Teachers are booked around results; exclusivity is common |
| Dedicated exam-strategy video | A searchable guide that feeds a funnel | Micro ₹20,000 to ₹1.2 lakh; mid-tier ₹1 lakh to ₹5 lakh | Brand-written scripts add ₹15,000 to ₹50,000 for some mid-tier creators |
| Student or career Reel | Relatable proof from someone like the buyer | Micro ₹8,000 to ₹80,000 | ASCI limits on pressure and fear |
| Alumni or topper Reel | A result story | Reel at micro level | Written consent after the result; verify every figure |
| LinkedIn post by a working professional | Reach among buyers of upskilling courses | ₹40,000 to ₹2.4 lakh for 30,000 to 100,000 followers | A clear paid-partnership label |
| Live doubt session or masterclass promo | Registrations | Quoted per session; no published range | Counsellor capacity on the day |
The prices are asking prices from the benchmarks behind our rates guide. They carry no education premium because no source we found publishes one, so average views, engagement and your buyer's age decide each quote.
A regional-language line
Many exam-prep and school-level audiences watch in their own language, and one agency guide puts regional-language YouTube channels 40% to 60% below Hindi or English ones. Three mid-tier integrations at ₹1,25,000 cost ₹3,75,000. The same three at a 40% discount cost ₹2,25,000, a saving of ₹1.5 lakh. The discount only helps if the channel's audience takes your course in that language, so check the course language and the counsellors' language before you cast. Our post on regional language influencer rates shows how to test a cheaper quote against the audience it reaches.
Two bills: the creator and the counsellor
A sale in edtech rarely ends at the creator's link. A viewer registers, a counsellor calls, a demo or masterclass follows and, if it goes well, the student enrols. The counsellor's time is a real cost per lead, and it falls on a different budget line from the creator fee. Two consequences follow.
First, more reach is not always the answer. A creator who sends 2,000 casual registrants may cost your counsellors more than one who sends 400 serious ones. Second, price the whole path: the cost per enrolment is the creator-side cost plus the sales cost, divided by enrolments. Our post on influencer cost per acquisition shows how to build that ceiling, and how to hire influencers for lead generation covers the brief.
You can estimate your own sales cost per enrolment from your payroll. Our ₹6,000 is an assumption built this way: six counsellors at ₹50,000 a month cost ₹3 lakh, and if they close 50 enrolments a month, each enrolment carries ₹6,000 of counsellor time. Use your own team's cost and close rate. If your counsellors are already at capacity, extra leads from a creator do not just cost more, they go uncalled.
The evidence pack is a cost line
Education claims are checked more closely than most. The CCPA's coaching guidelines of 13 November 2024 cover endorsers as well as institutes, and by 17 December 2024 the authority had issued 45 notices and imposed penalties of ₹61,60,000 on 19 coaching institutes, per PIB. Our post on education advertising rules for influencers reads the rules. What matters here is that each safeguard costs something.
- Result and rank proof. Every figure needs a source and the latest completed academic year. Budget team time to collect it before the brief.
- Consent from toppers. A topper's name, photo or video needs written consent taken after the result. Alumni creators add admin to each deal.
- Course access for teachers. A teacher should use the course before endorsing it. Free access to a ₹60,000 course is a benefit, and on TaxGuru's summary of the CBDT FAQs such benefits are valued at the selling price where the giver makes the item (our reading for a course). Section 194R puts 10% TDS on benefits once the total to one person passes ₹20,000 in a financial year, so the course alone crosses it. This is general information, not legal or tax advice.
- A revision reserve. Claims edits are normal. Two rounds are standard and further rounds run ₹5,000 to ₹30,000 each in one booking platform's guide.
ASCI's influencer guidelines apply on top, and its education guidelines set limits on how students and parents are shown, covered on the ASCI guidelines page.
The cost of booking late
Teachers are in demand around results and exam dates, which is also when your competitors want them. Using three mid-tier teacher integrations at ₹1,25,000 each:
| Scenario | Three integrations |
|---|---|
| Booked weeks ahead, no add-ons | ₹3,75,000 |
| Same, rush under 48 hours (+25% to 40%) | ₹4,68,750 to ₹5,25,000 |
| Same, 30 days of exclusivity (+30% to 50%) | ₹4,87,500 to ₹5,62,500 |
Rush work and exclusivity are separate premiums, and a late booking can bring both. Build the plan backwards from the official exam notifications, book creators before the dates are announced as final, and add a clause that fixes the publish dates. Our exam season influencer marketing post shows the calendar.
Example: a six-week drive for an upskilling cohort
| Line | Basis | Amount |
|---|---|---|
| LinkedIn posts | 2 at ₹1,00,000 | ₹2,00,000 |
| YouTube integrations | 3 mid-tier at ₹1,25,000 | ₹3,75,000 |
| Micro Reels and Story sets | 10 at ₹28,000 (Reel ₹20,000, Story set ₹8,000) | ₹2,80,000 |
| Alumni Reels | 2 at ₹20,000 | ₹40,000 |
| Base creator fees | ₹8,95,000 | |
| 30-day exclusivity against rival cohorts | +40% on the 3 YouTube integrations | ₹1,50,000 |
| Usage rights, 60 days | +35% on the 10 micro Reels (₹2,00,000) | ₹70,000 |
| Evidence-check revisions | Reserve for 6 creators at ₹10,000 beyond two rounds | ₹60,000 |
| Creator spend | ₹11,75,000 | |
| Management fee | 20%, inside the published 15% to 25% | ₹2,35,000 |
| GST | 18% on creator spend and fee | ₹2,53,800 |
| Creator-side cost | ₹16,63,800 |
The creator-side cost is 1.86 times the base fees. Exclusivity, rights and the revision reserve add 31% to the base, and the three YouTube channels are 42% of the base fees. Not included: ad media, the course access given to creators and your counsellors' time, which comes next.
Cost per enrolment, as a share of the fee
All the figures below are assumptions: ₹16.6 lakh of creator-side cost, an assumed ₹6,000 of counsellor and telecalling cost per enrolment and a ₹60,000 fee. Replace the enrolment counts with your own pilot data.
| Enrolments | Creator side per enrolment | Plus sales cost | Share of the ₹60,000 fee |
|---|---|---|---|
| 30 | ₹55,460 | ₹61,460 | 102% |
| 60 | ₹27,730 | ₹33,730 | 56% |
| 120 | ₹13,865 | ₹19,865 | 33% |
If delivery, support and discounts leave 50% of the fee as contribution, which is our assumption, you can spend about ₹30,000 per enrolment, and the plan needs about 70 enrolments to cover its cost on the first-year fee alone. At 30 it loses money on every enrolment. That is why a small first wave is worth running: our post on how to run an influencer pilot shows how to learn the real enrolment rate before the full spend. Check the LinkedIn lines too. ASCI recorded 121 LinkedIn disclosure violations in FY2024-25, according to its press release, so brief creators on labels.

Frequently asked questions
How much does influencer marketing cost for an edtech brand in India?
Creator fees follow the tier rates: ₹15,000 to ₹60,000 for a micro YouTube integration, ₹8,000 to ₹80,000 for a micro Reel and ₹40,000 to ₹2.4 lakh for a LinkedIn post. In our upskilling example, ₹8.95 lakh of base fees became ₹16.6 lakh creator-side, before counsellor cost. See influencer rates in India.
Do teacher and topper creators cost more than other creators?
We found no published education multiplier, so price them from tier rates, average views and engagement. Teachers are booked heavily around results and exam dates, so expect to pay for exclusivity, which adds 30% to 50% for 30 days in one guide. Alumni and topper creators add evidence work. See influencer marketing for coaching institutes.
What does it cost to follow the CCPA coaching guidelines?
The cost is evidence and time. The CCPA's guidelines of 13 November 2024 cover endorsers and bar false claims about selections, ranks and placements, and a topper's name or photo needs written consent after the result. Budget team time for the evidence pack and a revision reserve of ₹5,000 to ₹30,000 a round past two. See education advertising rules for influencers.
How do I work out cost per enrolment from influencers?
Add the creator-side cost and your counsellor or telecalling cost, then divide by enrolments. In our example ₹16.6 lakh over 60 enrolments is ₹27,730, and an assumed ₹6,000 sales cost makes ₹33,730, 56% of a ₹60,000 fee. Compare it with your contribution per enrolment, not the fee. See influencer cost per acquisition.
Are LinkedIn creators worth it for upskilling courses?
For courses aimed at working professionals they often fit, because the audience is the buyer (our reading). Published asking prices run ₹40,000 to ₹2.4 lakh per post for 30,000 to 100,000 followers, and ASCI recorded 121 LinkedIn disclosure violations in FY2024-25, so brief for labels. See LinkedIn influencer rates in India.
When should an edtech brand book creators?
Before demand peaks. Teachers are booked around results and exam dates, and rush work under 48 hours adds 25% to 40% in one booking platform's guide. Plan from the official exam notifications, which move every year, and agree dates in the contract. See exam season influencer marketing.
